Sunday, November 1, 2009 / 12:30 pm: Mr. Houston was honored to have his book signing and presentation/Q&A at the 11th Annual Conference for the California Library Association (CLA). The book signing commemorated Veteran’s Day, the following week on 11/11. The CLA’s conference was held at the Pasadena Convention Center with Mr. Houston’s book signing at the Product Demo Theatre inside of the Exhibit Hall. Friday, October 9, 2009 / 7 pm: Due to popular demand, Mr. Houston had his third book signing for Black Warriors at Eso Won Books in advance of Columbus Day to commemorate his combat unit’s unique ties to Columbus, while in Italy during WWII.

Saturday, March 14th from 1:30 to 5:00 pm: Mr. Houston along with nine other authors were at an event hosted by the Orange County Chapter of The Links, Inc. in collaboration with The National Black MBA Association and the Cerritos Library. The event “Ingredients for a Good Read” featured Q&A with the authors followed by an opportunity to purchase autographed copies of Mr. Houston's and the other authors books. Friday, February 12, 2010 / 6:30pm: Mr. Houston was on a panel with Fred Kuwornu, director of award-winning documentary, “Inside Buffalo”and Tullio Bertini, author of “Trapped in Tuscany, Liberated by the Buffalo Soldier.” The event took place in the Golden Gate Club, Presidio of San Francisco. It was held under the auspices of the Consul General of Italy in San Francisco and the Italian Cultural Institute.

Saturday, July 9 - Tuesday, July 15, 2009:Black Warriors was featured at the American Library Association (ALA), national conference being held in Chicago at McCormick Place West. Annually, the ALA national conference has over 10,000 attendees.
Thursday, May 28 – Sunday, May 31 ,2009: :Black Warriors was featured in the New Title Showcase section at the BookExpo America (BEA), located in the front lobby of New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Black Warriors remains listed in the New Title Showcase online section, which includes a sneak peek at one of the chapters.
